Design London 2007–2011

Design London, a joint 4-year collaboration between the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, and set up with HEFCE and NESTA support, has now come to a close. From 2007 to 2011 it was an international centre for interdisciplinary collaboration and design-led innovation – offering postgraduate teaching and executive education, conducting research and incubating new interdisciplinary businesses.

One of the most successful ventures of its kind, its impact on the two institutions has been tremendous. Design London catalysed stronger collaboration between the RCA and Imperial and leaves a strong legacy embedded into each institution, in the form of the InnovationRCA Incubator, the continuing shared taught programmes at the RCA and Imperial, and the new External Education Unit based in the School of Design at the RCA.

The Royal College of Art is focused on growing and expanding these programmes and the Business Incubator, operated by InnovationRCA, expanded into purpose-built facilities in the RCA's new Dyson Building in April 2012.
